Now that we have officially committed to both boys, we needed to send in another CSP, Child Specific Petition, with both their information on the document to EE. This CSP lets the EE country our boys are from know that we are committed to adopting them and they are taken off other adoption lists. We also sent in fresh POA's, Power of Attorney, since our first set had these weird numberings that were not supposed to be on the page but that our Word program randomly placed there.
Anywho, we took all these documents to Fed Ex today and asked them to put a $0 value on the envelope since that is what our stateside team told us was best. If a dollar amount is placed in the value box, then the documents might get held up in customs in EE for weeks at a time and we do not want that. This has happened time and again to other adoptive families. The lady at Fed Ex told me her computer system refused to let her put the $0 value in the computer and would not let her even make a mailing label. What to do??
Thankfully, the lady at Fed Ex came up with a solution. She totally broke all the rules and placed a $1 amount in the computer system so a mailing label could be generated but then she allowed us to write in a $0 value on the actual mailing label and placed it on the envelope. Very ingenious! Let's pray the discrepancy does not get noticed anywhere and that the package sails through to EE with flying colors!!
This package should arrive in EE on Monday, 8-23-10. I'll keep a close check on it via the tracking number and pray it arrives on time. Our second little man turns 4 in 3 weeks and will be sent to the institution if these documents do not get there on time. I believe they will! God has this!
