Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west.

About Myself

My name is Debbie.  I am a Christian, stay-at-home mom who is blessed to have been able to homeschool all 14 of our sweet children.   Our oldest three have graduated and are now off starting their own lives.  Our children are ages 29 to 6.  We have 6 by birth and 8 through the miracle of adoption.  I am also honored to be able to serve as the New Family Liaison/Ukraine Coordinator for Reece's Rainbow Down Syndrome Adoption Grant Foundation....the very ministry where we found our four blessings through adoption!

Our little corner of the world consist of 14 children, 1 grandson, 3 horses, 3 dogs, 18 acres and more work than we know what to do with.  We love it out here under the big sky and fresh air of West Texas. It's a great place to raise our large family.  We are excited to start down this more purposeful path we like to call, The Scenic Route.  We are passionate about serving our Father God and look forward to following where ever He leads us.

Up until 2009, we were literally flying through our lives at break-neck speed not even knowing there was a more purposeful scenic route to life.  We know now!  Our last baby by birth, sweet Justin, paved the way.  He was born with a life threatening heart condition as well as Down syndrome and has taught us more about life and living it with purpose than anyone in all our 40 plus years.  With his birth came surprise, wonder, awe, challenges, and a whole host of emotions we never knew we had.  We give thanks to God for opening our eyes to living a more purposeful life and thank Him for all of our children.  Children are truly a blessing from God!

I wish we could go out for coffee and discuss. Discuss adoption and how it could possibly fit for my family. I have visited and followed a few adoption blogs and have been pricked in my heart. Only I have been pricked. Not my husband. Just me. What do I do with something like that? I know pray. I do know.
I found your blog quite by accident. I saw it on RR for its five year bday. I saw your girls. The same girls that I saw and said, "those two little girls need to be adopted together. They are like little " twin sisters"--they looked alike to me. I wish I could go get them..." then, they were gone and I didn't know where or why or how. I was so excited to see that they were going to go home together when I came across you. :) Yippeeee! Can't wait to continue to follow this amazing story. Thanks for letting me watch!!
If I could have my way I would go and adopt two. How could you go through all that hard work and only rescue one? But how do we afford two? Thanks for listening. Kim Yeatts (mommy of four bio daughters and one foster daughter)--Lynchburg, VA.

I am so excited for your family! We also homeschool and have eight children and two that are adopted. We are also in the process of adopting two more (boy/girl twins!) and the little girl has HIV. I am just so excited to see the wonderful moments that you all are now spending with your daughters. I look forward to that so much!!! You have a very blessed family!
Sending our family's love,
Cynthia
